Islam Makhachev (24-1-0) v Alexander Volkanovski (26-2-0)

The UFC has also announced a change in opponents for the reigning lightweight champion Islam Makhachev. Instead of a rematch with the number one ranked Charles Oliviera he now finds himself in another rematch, this time against the featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski.

This rematch has been really anticipated by fans as Makhachevs victory became controversial after an incredible back and forth bout.

If Volkanovski manages to defeat the russian he will become a two weight class champion, as well as likely becoming the UFC pound for pound best in the world.

Despite holding his own against the lightweight champion in their previous fight Volkanovski comes into this bout as an underdog, with the reasons being the short notice as well as him moving up in weight for the fight.
