Arizona Diamondbacks
The Arizona Diamondbacks have been a member of the National League West Division since their founding in 1998, making them one of the youngest teams in the MLB. What Channel is the Diamondbacks Game on Tonight?
Arizona Diamondbacks games are carried by MLB Local Media through the recently formed DBacks.TV. This new broadcasting model emerged after Diamond Sports Group’s bankruptcy in 2024, meaning local fans will now switch from Bally Sports to D-Backs TV. For Cable TV subscribers, Dbacks.TV is available on DirectTV.
Only the nationally broadcasted games will not be covered on Dbacks.TV. These will instead be covered by the following providers, depending on the schedule.
- ESPN: Select nationally broadcast MLB games and Sunday Night Baseball.
- TBS: Tuesday Night MLB games throughout the regular season.
- FOX: 20 Saturday late afternoon or evening games, and four Thursday night games.
- MLB Network: 26 MLB Network Showcase games - blackout restrictions apply for in-market fans.
How to Stream Diamondbacks Games Online
With DBacks.TV being produced by MLB Local Media, Arizona fans can subscribe directly via the MLB website and enjoy every Diamondbacks game without blackout restrictions, apart from those broadcast nationally. There is also the option to upgrade your package to get the full MLB.TV access, which offers up the rest of the MLB schedule live and on-demand. This is a great option for any die-hard MLB fan.
National games are still subject to blackout restrictions, regardless of which package you go for. If you want to maximize your access to MLB games, then subscribing to a broader streaming provider such as DirecTV Stream or Fubo TV is your best bet, as these will carry Dbacks.TV and the channels you need for the nationally broadcasted games. With either of these, you will never need to worry about how you’re going to catch the Arizona Diamondbacks game tonight.

Home of the Diamondbacks
The Diamondbacks moved into the brand new Bank One Ballpark in 1998. When Bank One merged with JPMorgan Chase & Co., the stadium became known as Chase Field. It was the first stadium in the U.S. that featured a retractable roof over a natural grass surface. That surface was replaced with synthetic turf in 2019. Chase Field seats 48,686 for D-Backs games.
History of the Diamondbacks
The Diamondbacks won the NL West in just their second season of play but lost in the division series to the Mets. Arizona has won a total of five NL West Division titles (1999, 2001, 2002, 2007, and 2011). The D-Backs also made the playoffs in 2017 as an MLB wild card.
Arizona won one MLB league championship series and that was in 2001. That year, the Diamondbacks won their only NL pennant and defeated the New York Yankees in seven games to capture the only World Series title in franchise history.
Pitcher Randy Johnson was the first player in MLB history to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame with the Diamondbacks logo depicted on his plaque. Johnson spent a total of eight seasons with Arizona and was a big reason for the team’s early success. He won the Cy Young award four seasons in a row (1999-2002) and was the MVP of the 2001 World Series. Nine times Johnson led the league in strikeouts and in 2002 he won the pitching Triple Crown. Johnson’s 4,875 career strikeouts is the second-most in MLB history behind only Nolan Ryan.
Luis Gonzalez spent eight of his 19 MLB seasons with Arizona. He was a five-time All-Star and he will best be remembered for his game-winning hit in Game 7 of the 2001 World Series. Gonzalez singled over the outstretched glove of Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter driving in the winning run. Gonzalez would finish his career with 2,591 hits, 354 home runs, and a career batting average of .283.
Pitcher Curt Schilling grew up in the Phoenix area and wound up playing for the Diamondbacks from 2000 to 2003. Schilling, along with Johnson, proved to be one of the most successful pitching duos in MLB history. Schilling was an All-Star in two of his four seasons in Arizona and was also the MVP of the 2001 World Series.
