How to Watch Thursday Night Football on TV and Streaming
Thursday Night Football doesn't have a TV channel. In its fifth season on Prime Video, the NFL's Thursday game is a stream first, so the real question isn't where to find it on the dial. It's which Amazon account you're signed into. If you already pay for Prime, you're set for every Thursday Night Football game at no extra cost.
The catch is everything around that rule. Fans in the two teams' home markets get the game on regular TV. Thanksgiving and Christmas move games to other days and other services. And a Prime membership doesn't travel: the stream only works in the U.S.
Who plays this Thursday, and where the game streams, is on our NFL TV & streaming schedule.
| Your situation | How you watch | Extra cost (checked Oct 27, 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| You have Amazon Prime | Prime Video, included in your membership | $0 |

| Amazon Business Prime or Household shipping benefits only | Not included. You need your own Prime or Prime Video membership | From $8.99/month |
| One of the two teams is from your market | Your local over-the-air station, with an antenna or a TV package | None beyond your antenna or package |
| Phone or tablet, no Amazon | NFL+ | $6.99/month |
This season
- Regular season: Prime Video has 16 games: Thursday nights from Week 2 through Week 17, except Thanksgiving night, plus a Black Friday game.
- Black Friday: Broncos at Steelers on Friday, Nov. 27, at 3 p.m. ET. Our Pittsburgh Steelers TV schedule has the game with its kickoff time.
- Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve: both fall on a Thursday this season, and both are regular Prime Video games: Texans at Eagles on Dec. 24 and Ravens at Bengals on Dec. 31.
- Playoffs: Prime Video has an exclusive Wild Card game on Jan. 16 or 17, 2027. The matchup is set when the regular season ends.
The local TV exception
Thursday Night Football is a streaming exclusive everywhere except the two cities that are playing. Amazon says each game also airs on over-the-air TV stations in both teams' home markets. If you live in one of them, an antenna or any TV package with that station gets you the game, with no Prime membership needed. Check local listings for which station has it in your area.
The station isn't the same every week, because it depends on the market. Our team schedules, like the Philadelphia Eagles TV schedule, show which of your team's games are on Thursday night and how they're televised.
Everywhere else in the U.S., Prime Video is the only way to watch on a TV. A cable or live TV streaming package doesn't add the game.
What Thursday Night Football costs per game
If you already pay for Amazon Prime, Thursday Night Football costs nothing extra. If you don't, only one subscription carries the games nationally, so the math is simple. Ten Prime Video games are left in the regular season after Oct. 27, from Oct. 29 to New Year's Eve, and covering all of them takes three monthly payments. The figures below use regular prices before taxes.
- Prime Video on its own ($8.99 a month) is the lowest-priced way to watch on a TV. Three payments come to $26.97, or about $2.70 per game.
- Amazon Prime ($14.99 a month or $139 a year) adds Amazon's shopping benefits to Prime Video, and Amazon says Prime members get the Wild Card game at no extra cost. Three monthly payments come to $44.97, or about $4.50 per game. The annual plan only pays off if you keep Prime for ten months or more.
- New Year's Eve is the expensive game. The Dec. 31 game is the only one in the third billing month. Two months of Prime Video ($17.98) cover the nine games through Christmas Eve, about $2.00 per game.
- NFL+ ($6.99 a month) streams the games live on a phone or tablet, not on a TV. Three payments come to $20.97, or about $2.10 per game.
- An antenna costs nothing per game when one of the two teams is from your market.
Choosing a broadcast
Because the game is built for streaming, Prime Video offers more than one version of it, and you pick in the app before or during the game.
- The main broadcast with Al Michaels, Kirk Herbstreit and Kaylee Hartung.
- TNF en Español, a full Spanish-language broadcast with Miguel Gurwitz and Ronaldo Cantú.
- Prime Vision with Next Gen Stats, an alternate stream with live data and analytics on screen.
Coverage starts with the pregame show TNF Tonight at 7 p.m. ET. Amazon says the games also stream live on Twitch.
If you can't watch live, turn on "Record Thursday Night Football" in Prime Video. Recorded games stay available as replays until next season starts. Without it, you only get 15 minutes of playback control during a live game.
Holiday weeks and other Thursday games
Thursday is the NFL night most likely to catch you out, because the holiday weeks move games to other days and other services. Our schedule shows which service has each Thursday game, and here is how the exceptions work this season.
- Thanksgiving week: Netflix streams the Thanksgiving Eve game, Packers at Rams, on Wednesday, Nov. 25, at 8 p.m. ET. On Thanksgiving Day, Bears at Lions is on CBS at 1 p.m. ET, Eagles at Cowboys is on FOX at 4:30 p.m. ET and Chiefs at Bills is on NBC at 8:20 p.m. ET. Prime Video's game comes the next afternoon, on Black Friday.
- Christmas week: Christmas Eve is a regular Thursday Night Football game on Prime Video. On Christmas Day, Netflix has Packers at Bears at 1 p.m. ET and Bills at Broncos at 4:30 p.m. ET, and FOX has Rams at Seahawks at 8:15 p.m. ET. Here's how to watch the NFL on Netflix.
- Week 1: Thursday Night Football starts in Week 2. The Week 1 Thursday game, the Rams and 49ers in Melbourne, Australia, was on Netflix.
- Week 18: there is no Thursday game. The final week is played on Saturday and Sunday.
Kickoff times and flex scheduling
Thursday games kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET (5:15 p.m. PT). The Black Friday game is the exception, at 3 p.m. ET (noon PT).
The NFL can flex Thursday Night Football up to twice between Week 13 and Week 17, which means a different game moves into the Thursday slot. The league generally decides at least 21 days ahead.
Watching on your TV, phone or tablet
Prime Video works on more than 650 devices, according to Amazon. They include Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, Samsung and LG smart TVs, iPhone and iPad, Android phones and tablets, and web browsers. Sign in with the Amazon account that has your membership. If your TV shows a code, enter it at amazon.com/mytv. The codes expire quickly, so do it before kickoff.
A few limits are worth knowing before the game starts:
- Two screens per account. One account can stream the same live game on up to two devices at once.
- U.S. only. Thursday Night Football on Prime Video works in the U.S. and its territories, not when you travel abroad.
- Older devices. Amazon says some devices released before 2020 may not support every feature, such as the alternate streams.
- Internet speed. Amazon recommends at least 1 Mbps for standard definition and 5 Mbps for HD.
Without Amazon, NFL+ ($6.99 a month) streams Thursday games live on a phone or tablet, but not on a TV. It's for the U.S. only and doesn't cover U.S. territories.
Thursday Night Football in Canada
Prime Video's Thursday Night Football stream is for the U.S., so a Prime membership won't get you the game in Canada. There, TSN carries all of the NFL's primetime games, including Thursday night, according to NFL.com. TSN's broadcast schedule lists the remaining Thursday games on the TSN network together with CTV2 or CTV, depending on the week. Our team schedules, like the Green Bay Packers TV schedule, list the TSN channels next to Prime Video.
For streaming, DAZN is the home of NFL Game Pass in Canada, with every NFL game. DAZN says Game Pass is part of its regular subscription, from CA$24.99 a month on a 12-month plan, with commentary in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.
What we found
Based on Amazon's and the NFL's information and this season's schedule, checked Oct. 27, 2026:
- Prime members pay nothing extra. Every Thursday Night Football game, the Black Friday game and the Wild Card game are part of your membership.
- Without Prime, Prime Video on its own is the cheapest way to watch on a TV, about $2.70 per game for the 10 games left (three payments of $8.99).
- A cable or live TV package only helps in the two teams' home markets. Everywhere else in the U.S., Thursday Night Football is a Prime Video stream.
- NFL+ is the one way to watch without Amazon outside those markets, but only on a phone or tablet.
