HOUSTON DYNAMO FC

The Houston Dynamo FC were founded in 2005 when the owner of the San Jose Earthquakes, Anschutz Entertainment, moved that franchise to Houston. The club began play in 2006 as an expansion team and experienced some early success in Major League Soccer. All of the Earthquakes players and coaches relocated to Houston giving the city a top-notch soccer team.

The Dynamo franchise is owned by a group that includes boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya and NBA star James Harden. In 2007, MLS wanted Anschutz Entertainment to divest its interest in Houston since the league wanted an ownership group to own just one team. Anschutz still owns the LA Galaxy. Anschutz worked out a deal with Gabriel Brener, head of Brener International Group as well as De La Hoya, Harden, and a few others.

Fans can watch Houston Dynamo FC games on TV and stream games from a number of different platforms. National broadcasts are shown on ESPN and ESPN2.
