When the regular season is finished, 10 teams move on to the postseason Playoffs. The 10 teams include six division winners and four wild cards. The wild cards are two teams from each league that’ve the best win-loss record and aren’t division winners.

The postseason series starts with two wild card games between the four wild card teams, one game with wild cards from the American League and one from the National League. These two matches are played in a best-of-one-game format, compared to the later stages of the Playoffs which are played in a best-of-five or best-of-seven games format.
