What is NFL+?

NFL+ is the NFL’s official streaming service designed to provide quick and easy access to a plethora of NFL action, from live games to original programming. It puts the world of the NFL at the fingertips of the fans, designed around mobile-friendly viewing options that allow you to stay locked in while on the move. There are still extensive services and programs available to watch on a full-sized television as well, but the primary target for this subscription service is mobile viewers.

Live Games

One of the biggest appeals of NFL+ is the ability to tune into live, in-market, and primetime games (mobile/tablet only). This means you can watch all of your local team's games, provided you are living in the area, as well as every single showing of Thursday Night Football, Sunday Night Football, and Monday Night Football. The primetime offerings extend into the postseason as well, meaning that whether the team in your area makes it or not, you can still catch all of the action from your mobile device.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to tune into out-of-market games; however, NFL+ does offer radio coverage provided by the national, home, and away broadcasters. Fans who want to upgrade to NFL+ Premium will be able to catch these out-of-market games on replay after they have finished. If you want to watch out-of-market games live, then read our review of NFL Sunday Ticket.

Regional Restrictions

Unfortunately, black-out restrictions do remain in place for out-of-market games, which means the only games you will be able to tune into are the ones in your local area.

Original Shows and Documentaries

Alongside the live in-market games, NFL+ boasts a fantastic library of shows and documentaries that tell the stories of the sport's greatest teams and players, both historical and present-day. The NFL Films catalogue is available in its entirety, ad-free, and can be streamed from a television screen.

For example, ‘A Football Life’ offers an in-depth look at the lives and careers of some of the NFL’s most influential figures. There is also ‘NFL 360’, a documentary series that explores the stories, people, and places that have defined the NFL over the years.

Subscribers will also get to enjoy classic original content such as ‘Mic’d Up’, ‘The NFL’s Top 100 Players’, and, of course, ‘Hard Knocks’. Collectively, this impressive archive of football history gives you all the on-demand entertainment you need, informing you on the NFL’s best current players and legends of old.

NFL Network with NFL+

NFL+ users will also get access to NFL Network and all of its live coverage throughout the season on any device of your choosing. NFL RedZone is not included in the standard plan, but can be accessed through the Premium option. We will elaborate on this in the following section.

Are there different NFL+ subscription plans?

Yes, there are two separate tiers in the NFL+ subscription model. The standard plan is ideal for the casual fan, and comes with everything that we mentioned in the last section, while the premium plan carries three distinct services that present tremendous value.
