What is Peacock

Peacock is a subsidiary of NBCUniversal, taking on the role of their official streaming service. Launched in 2020, Peacock provides users with an entertaining mix of TV shows, movies, news and sports channels, showcasing content from all over the world alongside original content as well. One of its best assets is its strong sports lineup, which includes live broadcasts and on-demand content from various sports leagues and events.

Headlining the offering is Peacock’s exclusive rights to the Premier League, offering unrivaled coverage of matches, highlights and analysis. Additionally, subscribers can enjoy NFL Sunday Night Football, coverage of WWE and extensive action from the Summer Olympics. It really is a fantastic platform for sports fans, especially considering the generous price of just $5.99.

If you are in a household where sport isn't the only focus, then viewers will be pleased to hear there are also plenty of television shows to keep everyone entertained. Classics like ‘The Office’ and ‘Parks and Recreation’ are always well received, with ‘Suits’ and ‘The Traitors’ also bulking out the offering. Alongside these, there is a substantial amount of NBC content available, however, not all of it. Some content may be restricted because of licensing agreements with other streaming services and networks.

Overall, Peacock offers a great blend of sports, entertainment and news at a very competitive price. Add in its affiliation with NBC and the content that comes with that, and you have a very tidy streaming package.

Peacock stands out as a very budget-friendly option in a competitive television streaming landscape. Its generous $5.99 a month starting package is a bargain, especially considering the wide array of content it has, catering to diverse tastes. If you are looking to upgrade your television viewing experience, it is a great way to do so without breaking the bank, particularly if you are a sports fan.

English Premier League

NFL fans will get to enjoy the crown jewel of the weekly NFL schedule, Sunday Night Football. Live games will be accompanied by expert commentary and followed up with extensive highlights, making Peacock a fantastic and affordable way to keep up-to-date with the latest NFL action.

Summer Olympics

The affiliation that Peacock has with NBC means that users will benefit from comprehensive coverage of the 2024 Summer Olympics, held in Paris. Events will be broadcast live and then re-lived through event replays, analysis and behind-the-scenes footage. If you are planning on watching the Olympics, Peacock is going to be your best friend over Summer.

WWE

Peacock is also the exclusive streaming home for WWE, offering pay-per-view events, including WrestleMania and a vast library of past fights and original programming. If you’re into your wrestling, you won’t get bored on Peacock.

Subscription Plans

Peacock no longer offers a free tier, which means you will have to select from one of two paid packages:

Peacock Premium (with ads) - $5.99 a month

The cheapest option comes in at just $5.99 a month, including the full range of TV shows, movies, original productions and plenty of sports. The only minor catch is the presence of ads, but that is not a huge problem to deal with if you are eager to enjoy a wide range of TV at a great price. This is our recommended package for sports fans, offering you everything you need to enjoy the English Premier League, Sunday Night Football, the Olympics and WWE.

Peacock Premium Plus (ad-free) - $11.99 a month

If you want to ensure the smoothest of viewing experiences, paying $6 extra will get you the ad-free version, which is called Peacock Premium Plus. This gives you access to all of the same content as Peacock Premium but without the ads. This is, of course, a bonus, but for the additional cost, we would rather just deal with the ads and enjoy all the same content for only $5.99 a month.

Offers & Free trial

Unfortunately, Peacock is not offering any free trials at the moment, however, it is always worth checking to see if they have any discounts. These pop up from time to time in varying forms. For example, students can currently enjoy a discount that gives them Peacock premium for just $2 a month.
