NBA 2020-2021 season, when, where and how will it be played?
Although the playoffs are still being right now in August discussions on when the new season will start have already begun. Adam Silver, the NBA commissioner, let the public know that even the previously discussed start date of December 1 could be pushed back if it meant that fans could be let into the arenas. So right now we don't know if the next season will begin in december or even as late as January 2021. Silver made the comments in an interview on ESPN in connection with the NBA draft lottery.
According to NBC Sport Insider Tom Haberstroh the NBA makes roughly $1.2 million in gate revenue per regular season game and $2 million per playoff game. So it is not hard to see why the NBA are willing to push back and even wait a bit longer than expected in order for the new season to get underway.
