Indianapolis Colts 2025 Season Preview: Star Players, Key Matchups & Where to Watch

Indianapolis Colts 2025 Season Preview: Star Players, Key Matchups & Where to Watch

The Indianapolis Colts are on the precipice of slipping into NFL purgatory: not quite good enough for the playoffs, but not quite bad enough for a full-scale rebuild.

This dilemma is intensified by the absence of a franchise quarterback since the sudden retirement of Andrew Luck six years ago.

With their head coach, Shane Steichen, on the hot seat and a dreadful QB room to parse reliable play out of, this will be a make-or-break year for the Colts.

đŸ“ș Top 5 Must-Watch Colts Games in 2025

🏈 Week 2 (Sept 14) - vs Denver Broncos

CBS/Paramount+, 4:05 PM ET

Indy hosts one of last season’s surprise playoff teams, with one of the fiercest defenses in the entire league. It will be an early-season test of this offense's potential, and most likely temper fans’ expectations for 2025.

🏈 Week 10 (Nov 9) - vs Atlanta Falcons

NFL Network/NFL+, 9:30 PM ET

The inaugural Berlin game against a fast-rising NFC team, the Colts could make a real statement here by beating the Falcons in Germany, and head into their bye week with some positive momentum.

🏈 Week 12 (Nov 23) - @ Kansas City Chiefs

CBS/Paramount+, 1:00 PM ET

They’ll need all the rest they can get from that bye, as their return to home soil comes against the perennial AFC Champs, at Arrowhead. A tough place to play midseason, this game will tell us a lot about these Colts.

🏈 Week 16 (Dec 22) - vs San Francisco 49ers

ESPN, 8:15 PM ET

Facing off against a playoff regular, in primetime, the Colts will have a chance to show the entire country what they’re made of on Monday Night Football.

🏈 Week 18 (Jan 3/4) - @ Houston Texans

TBD

To close out the season, the Colts could spoil Houston’s chance at a division three-peat. Even if there are no playoff implications, it could provide momentum going into next season.

🌙 Colts in Prime Time: When to Tune In

  • Monday Night (MNF) Games
  • Week 16 vs San Francisco
  • International Games
    • Week 10 vs Atlanta
      • (Berlin, Germany)

The Colts have lost their last five primetime games, dating back to the 2022 season, an even more concerning statistic when you consider that 2025 will be their third consecutive season with just one nationally broadcast game. On the bright side, the last time they played the Niners was also in primetime during the 2021 season, a game in which Indy came out on top. They also emerged victorious in their last trip to Germany, back in 2023, but this is the NFL’s inaugural game in the capital of Berlin, where the Colts will look to make history this November.

How to Watch the Colts in 2025

It varies game to game. For the best, most in-depth access, NFL Network offers the most complete coverage. Nationally broadcast games are available on major networks such as Fox, CBS, and NBC, with other offerings on Prime Video and Netflix as well.

🧠 Final Thought: Can they challenge for the AFC South?

This will be the Colts’ first season without Jim Irsay as part of the organization in over 40 years, and perhaps the sudden death of their longtime owner could galvanize this group to make something of the 2025 season. In a weak AFC South, there is no reason that this team can’t challenge for its first division title in 11 years. The coaching staff has to leave it all on the line, but with major question marks surrounding the most important position in all of sports, there is little to no room for error.
