What are the FedExCup Playoffs?
The FedExCup Playoffs are a three-week series held at the end of the PGA TOUR season. Players earn FedExCup points throughout the year, with the top 70 in the standings qualifying for the opening playoff event, the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
The field is competing for the FedExCup Trophy, which was won by England’s Tommy Fleetwood in 2025. Rory McIlroy has won the FedExCup three times, more than any other player, while Scottie Scheffler was the last American winner in 2024.
There is also plenty at stake beyond the FedExCup itself. The 50 players who advance to the BMW Championship secure places in all of the PGA TOUR’s Signature Events for the 2027 season.

The Playoffs begin on August 13 at TPC Southwind in Memphis for the FedEx St. Jude Championship. The top 70 players in the FedExCup standings qualify for the tournament, with the top 50 following the event advancing to the BMW Championship. There is no 36-hole cut, so players who start the tournament can complete all four rounds.
The following week, the remaining 50 players travel to Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis for the BMW Championship from August 20–23. Once again there is no cut, with the top 30 in the FedExCup standings after the tournament advancing to the TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta from August 27–30.
The TOUR Championship no longer uses the Starting Strokes system. All 30 players begin at even par and compete over 72 holes of stroke play, with the lowest total score winning both the TOUR Championship and the FedExCup.
At East Lake, the final 30 players compete over 72 holes of stroke play, with the lowest score winning the TOUR Championship and the FedExCup. The 2026 TOUR Championship has a $40 million purse, with $10 million going to the winner.

Golf Channel
Golf Channel provides coverage during the opening two rounds of the Playoffs, as well as lead-in coverage before the main weekend broadcasts.
For the opening FedEx St. Jude Championship, for example, Golf Channel carries Thursday and Friday afternoon coverage and the early Saturday and Sunday TV windows.
Golf Channel is available through a range of cable, satellite and live TV streaming providers, including services such as Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV and DIRECTV.
CBS
The main Saturday and Sunday TV coverage of the FedExCup Playoffs is shown on CBS.
This is where viewers can follow the closing stages of each event as the field is reduced from 70 players to 50 and then 30, before the FedExCup champion is decided at the TOUR Championship.

ESPN
ESPN has expanded its PGA TOUR coverage for the 2026 FedExCup Playoffs, with 12 hours of live coverage on the primary ESPN channel.
That consists of two-hour windows on Thursday and Friday at each of the three playoff events. ESPN’s linear coverage begins from 9–11 a.m. ET at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, 10 a.m.–noon ET at the BMW Championship and 11 a.m.–1 p.m. ET at the TOUR Championship.
Can I stream the FedExCup Playoffs?
Yes. The FedExCup Playoffs are available through several streaming options, although the coverage available differs depending on the service.
Paramount+
The main CBS broadcasts on Saturday and Sunday can also be streamed through the live local CBS station included with the Paramount+ Premium plan.
Paramount+ Premium currently costs $13.99 per month. Local CBS availability can depend on location, so it is worth checking availability before subscribing.
ESPN Select
PGA TOUR LIVE coverage is available through the ESPN app and is included with ESPN Select, the subscription plan that contains ESPN+ content.
PGA TOUR LIVE provides additional coverage throughout the Playoffs, including Main Feed, Marquee Group, Featured Groups and Featured Holes streams.
It is important to distinguish this from the live coverage shown on the main ESPN TV channel. ESPN Select does not include the linear ESPN channel. To stream the ESPN channel without a traditional TV package, viewers need ESPN Unlimited or another live TV service that carries ESPN.
Live TV streaming services
Live TV streaming services can be one of the easiest ways to get several of the channels needed for the FedExCup Playoffs through a single subscription.
