How to Watch the 2026 World Series: TV, Streaming, Schedule & Cost
The 2026 MLB season comes down to one final best-of-seven series when the World Series begins on Friday, October 23.
Watching the World Series is simpler than following the earlier postseason rounds, but the best option still depends on whether you use pay TV, a standalone streaming service, a live TV package or an over-the-air antenna. This guide covers the full schedule, U.S. TV and streaming options, subscription prices, blackout rules and the most cost-effective ways to watch every game, including how MLB.TV works during the postseason.
For individual games, confirmed start times and updated broadcast listings, use the World Series TV schedule on LiveSportsOnTV.com.
Where to watch the 2026 World Series
FOX will broadcast every game of the 2026 World Series in English in the United States. FOX Deportes carries the Spanish-language broadcast, while FOX One provides a direct streaming option for cord-cutters.
| World Series Coverage | Where to watch |
|---|---|
| English-language TV | FOX |
| Spanish-language TV | FOX Deportes |
| Direct streaming | FOX One |
| Live TV streaming | Sling, Fubo, YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, DIRECTV |
If FOX is already part of your cable, satellite or live TV subscription, you do not need another service specifically for the World Series.
For streaming viewers, the main choice is between subscribing directly to FOX One or using a larger live TV package that includes FOX.
Earlier rounds of the postseason use a different mix of broadcasters. If you also want TV and streaming information for the Division Series or League Championship Series, our complete guide to watching the 2026 MLB Playoffs covers every round from the Wild Card Series through the World Series.

How to stream the World Series without cable
A cable subscription is not required to watch the 2026 World Series.
FOX One is the most direct streaming option. The service costs $19.99 per month and includes FOX Network, FOX Sports, FS1, FS2, FOX Deportes and other FOX programming. FOX specifically lists live MLB as part of the service.
Several live TV services also provide access to FOX:
| Service | Regular monthly price |
|---|---|
| FOX One | $19.99 |
| Sling Select | $24.99 |
| Fubo Sports + News | $55.99 |
| YouTube TV | $82.99 |
| DIRECTV Entertainment | $89.99 |
| Hulu + Live TV | $99.99 |
These are regular advertised monthly prices rather than short-term introductory discounts.
What is the cheapest way to stream the World Series?
If you are subscribing specifically for the World Series, FOX One is the most cost-effective standalone streaming choice at $19.99 per month. Even if the series reaches Game 7, every game takes place between October 23 and October 31. One monthly FOX One subscription therefore covers the entire World Series.
Sling Select is the next step up at $24.99 per month and includes FOX One app access alongside additional live channels.
Fubo, YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV and DIRECTV make more sense when you want a broader television package after baseball season is over. There is no need to spend $80 to $100 on a new full live TV package solely to watch the World Series when a direct FOX streaming option is available.
Can you watch the World Series for free?
FOX is a broadcast network, so you do not need cable or a streaming subscription to receive the channel over the air. Once you have the antenna, there is no monthly charge for watching the FOX broadcast.
Reception depends on your location, the local FOX transmitter and the antenna setup in your home. If FOX is the only channel you need for the World Series, checking over-the-air reception before buying a streaming subscription is worthwhile.
Are there World Series blackouts?
The World Series does not follow the same regional blackout setup as the MLB regular season. Every game is broadcast nationally on FOX, so viewers do not need the participating teams' regional sports networks to watch the series.
For example, if the Dodgers reach the World Series, you do not need SportsNet LA. If the Yankees qualify, you do not need YES Network. In both cases, the games move to the national FOX broadcast.
MLB.TV works differently. In the U.S., watching FOX postseason games live through MLB.TV requires authentication with a participating pay-TV provider that carries FOX. MLB.TV should therefore not be treated as a standalone streaming option for watching the World Series live in the U.S.
How does the World Series format work?
The World Series is a best-of-seven series between the American League champion and National League champion. The first team to win four games becomes World Series champion.
The series follows a 2-3-2 home-game format:
- Games 1 and 2 are hosted by the team with home-field advantage.
- Games 3 and 4 move to the other team's ballpark.
- Game 5, if needed, is played at the same ballpark as Games 3 and 4.
- Games 6 and 7, if needed, return to the original host.
Home-field advantage goes to the World Series participant with the better 2026 regular-season record. That means playoff seeding does not independently decide who hosts Game 1. The regular-season records of the two eventual league champions determine which city opens the World Series.
