Top 3 Must-Watch Sporting Events This Weekend (Oct 25-26)

The NFL playoff race is heating up, with teams fighting to build momentum as the season takes shape. Meanwhile, Game 2 of the World Series unfolds in Toronto, the MLS playoffs intensify, and El Clásico headlines a huge weekend of global soccer.

World Series - Game 2: Los Angeles Dodgers @ Toronto Blue Jays

  • When: Saturday, October 25
  • Time: 8:00 pm EST
  • Competition: MLB
  • Channel: Fox, Fox Sports App, MLB.TV

The defending champ comes into the 2025 World Series with all of the momentum in the world at their backs. It’s business as usual for the Dodgers: Ohtani making history, saving their best for October, and a sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers in the NLCS was just the icing on the cake. The extra days off should level the playing field for them, since the opening two games will take place at the Rogers Centre.

The Blue Jays won their first pennant in 33 years, but were pushed to the very end by the Mariners in the ALCS. Breaking that curse is an encouraging side, but these Dodgers are a scary proposition for anyone.

El Clásico: Real Madrid vs Barcelona

  • Day: Sunday, October 26
  • Time: 11:15 AM ET
  • Competition: La Liga
  • Channel: ESPN2, ESPN+

One of the most-watched and hotly contested rivalries in all of sport, Real Madrid and Barcelona face off in a tense Bernabéu. Los Blancos will be coming off a tough midweek fixture against Juventus, while the Blaugrana made light work of Olympiacos. Both enjoy the luxury of hosting those Champions League matches, but a poor performance in either could turn the tide. After a 4-1 beatdown at the hands of Sevilla at the start of October, Barcelona rebounded with a win over Girona in an all-Catalan clash.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, has recovered well from their loss to intercity rivals Atletico to retain their two-point lead atop the La Liga standings. Therefore, as it so often does, this Clásico will have major title implications and be huge for both teams’ momentum. With Kylian Mbappe playing the best football of his time as a Madridista, while the squad seems to have finally taken to Xabi Alonso’s tactics and footballing philosophy. Meanwhile, Barcelona is the same high-octane side under Hansi Flick that was impossible to take your eye off last season, although star winger Raphina has struggled with injuries.

NFL: Green Bay Packers @ Pittsburgh Steelers

  • When: Sunday, October 26
  • Time: 8:20 PM ET
  • Competition: NFL
  • Channel: NBC, Peacock, NFL+

The Aaron Rodgers legacy game will take place in the Steel City, as the 41-year-old will hope to show out against his former employers. After a strong start to 2025, Pittsburgh will be looking to shake off a loss to the woeful Bengals in their last primetime appearance. Conversely, the Packers are hoping for a dominant win after stumbling through their most recent games, appearing shaken from a humiliating loss to the Browns back in week 3. A marquee win here, on Sunday Night football, could prove a flashpoint for either team’s season.
