MLB Network Live Sports Schedule

Across a 162-game MLB season, keeping track of where every game is being shown can be difficult. National broadcasts, local team coverage and streaming services all play a part, while MLB Network carries selected live games throughout the regular season.

The schedule above shows upcoming live sports on MLB Network, with game times and broadcast information updated as listings are confirmed. Livesportsontv.com focuses on live sports, so this does not represent MLB Network’s complete 24-hour programming schedule, which also includes studio shows, highlights, analysis and archive programming.

If you are looking for a game that is not being shown on MLB Network, our MLB TV and streaming schedule brings together upcoming games across national networks, local coverage and streaming services.

What is MLB Network?

MLB Network is Major League Baseball’s 24-hour television network. It launched in 2009 and combines live baseball with news, analysis, highlights and original programming.

Live coverage includes weekly MLB regular-season games, special-event broadcasts and extensive Spring Training coverage. MLB Network says it carries more than 150 Spring Training games, making February and March particularly busy months on the channel.

Away from the live games, the network has a full schedule of baseball programming. MLB Tonight remains one of its signature shows, with live look-ins at games in progress alongside highlights, interviews and analysis. Other regular programs include MLB Central, MLB Now, Intentional Talk, Quick Pitch and MLB Big Inning.

How can I watch MLB Network?

There are several ways to get MLB Network, depending on whether you want the channel on its own or as part of a broader TV package.

The most direct streaming option is MLB+, which provides 24/7 access to MLB Network in the United States. MLB+ also includes selected out-of-market MLB Network games, MLB Big Inning, Minor League Baseball coverage and live audio for all 30 MLB teams.

MLB Network is also included with MLB.TV in the United States. MLB.TV is the broader option for fans who want access to the league’s out-of-market regular-season game package rather than simply the MLB Network channel. Blackout and other restrictions still apply.

For a more detailed comparison of the packages, see our MLB.TV review and blackout guide.

Fans who already receive MLB Network through a participating TV provider can also authenticate their subscription and stream the channel through MLB’s supported digital platforms.

What games and programming does MLB Network show?

MLB Network carries live baseball throughout the year, but it is not a channel where every game follows the same weekly pattern.

During Spring Training, the network carries a particularly large number of games from Florida and Arizona. MLB says its Spring Training coverage includes more than 150 games.

Once the regular season begins, MLB Network shows weekly live regular-season games, including MLB Network Showcase broadcasts and other selected matchups. The exact number and timing of live games varies throughout the season, so it is better to check the current schedule than assume there will be a game in a particular time slot.

MLB Network also follows games that are being shown elsewhere through programs such as MLB Tonight and MLB Big Inning, which can feature live look-ins, highlights and updates from games around the league. These programs are different from a full live-game broadcast but can be useful on busy nights when several games are being played at once.

Are MLB Network games subject to blackouts?

Yes. One of the most important things to understand about MLB Network is that having access to the channel does not necessarily mean every live game shown on it will be available in your location.

MLB Network’s regular-season games are generally subject to local blackout restrictions. If the network is showing a game involving a team in your local television territory, that game may be unavailable on the national MLB Network feed because the local broadcaster holds the rights in your area.

In that situation, MLB Network may show alternate programming instead.

This is also why MLB Network should not be treated as a replacement for your local team’s television coverage or as a way to watch every MLB game. Blackout rules depend on your location and the rights attached to the particular game.

Which TV providers carry MLB Network?

MLB Network remains widely distributed through traditional cable, satellite and streaming TV providers.

Major League Baseball currently lists providers including Xfinity, Spectrum, Cox, DIRECTV, DISH and Verizon Fios among the services carrying the network. The package required can vary by provider and location, so it is worth checking the current channel lineup before changing or upgrading a TV package.

If MLB Network is already included with your television subscription, you may also be able to use your provider credentials to access the network’s authenticated live stream.

Which streaming services include MLB Network?

MLB Network is also available through several major live-TV streaming services, although it is not included in every base package.

Current options include:

  • Hulu + Live TV: MLB Network is included in the live-TV channel lineup.
  • Fubo: MLB Network is available through add-ons including Fubo Extra and Sports Plus.
  • Sling TV: MLB Network is available through the Sports Extra add-on with eligible Sling plans.
  • DIRECTV: MLB Network is available through several sports-focused packages, including CHOICE and MySports.
  • YouTube TV: MLB Network is not currently available through YouTube TV.

Channel lineups can change, so it is always worth confirming that MLB Network is included in the specific package you are considering.

MLB Network vs. MLB.TV

MLB Network and MLB.TV serve different purposes, even though MLB Network is now included with MLB.TV in the United States.

MLB Network is a 24-hour baseball channel. It carries selected live games alongside studio programming, highlights, news and analysis.

MLB.TV is primarily designed for fans who want to follow MLB teams outside their local market. It provides the broader out-of-market regular-season game package, subject to blackout and other restrictions, while also including MLB Network and additional MLB content.

MLB+ sits between the two. It provides direct access to MLB Network and selected additional baseball content, but it does not replace the full out-of-market MLB.TV package.

For viewers simply looking for a particular game, the easiest option is usually to check the live listings rather than work through each package individually.
