MLB.TV Review 2026: Cost, Blackouts & Packages
MLB.TV is one of the main ways to stream the MLB online, especially for fans who want access to out-of-market games. This guide explains what MLB.TV includes, how blackout rules work, what it costs, and which package is best depending on the team you want to follow.
What is an MLB.TV subscription?
An MLB.TV subscription gets you access to the MLB’s official streaming service, with your access to out-of-market and in-market games depending on your choice of subscription. A standard MLB.TV plan offers live broadcasts of all out-of-market games, with replays available on demand. It also provides live coverage of Minor League Games (MiLB) and the full MLB Big Inning program. Big Inning is the league’s daily whiparound show that alternates between key moments and highlights from each of the day’s games. For NFL fans, it is essentially the baseball equivalent of Red Zone. To Premier League fans, this is the sport’s Match of the Day.

Does MLB.TV let you watch all games?
No, MLB.TV does not let you watch every MLB game live. It gives you live access to out-of-market games, but local in-market games are still subject to blackout rules unless your team has a separate in-market streaming package. Nationally exclusive games are also not available live through MLB.TV.
If you only want to follow one team, MLB also offers Single Team packages. These are still out-of-market subscriptions, so local blackout rules can still apply if you live inside that team’s home territory.
For 2026, MLB has also expanded its in-market streaming options for selected clubs. These team-specific subscriptions are designed for fans who live inside a club’s local TV territory and want to watch local games live without the usual in-market blackout issue, although nationally exclusive games may still be unavailable. In some cases, fans can bundle a club’s in-market streaming package with an MLB.TV out-of-market subscription for broader coverage. Because availability and pricing vary by team and market, the safest way to confirm what you can watch is to enter your ZIP code on MLB’s official package pages. For a full breakdown, see our MLB in-market streaming guide.
Single Team plans also have all of the MLB Network, MLB Big Inning, and MiLB broadcasts as the standard plans, with select pre and post-game shows for each team. These plans vary in price and coverage, so be sure to check your local team’s package beforehand.
It is worth noting that, regardless of what subscription you go for, you will still see blackout restrictions on games broadcast by a national provider. In this instance, you will need access to the channel in question (i.e. Fox or ESPN) to watch the game live. MLB also offers MLB+ for $59.99 per year or $5.99 per month, but this is a separate product and does not include live out-of-market MLB game streams. Instead, it includes features such as MLB Network, live audio, MiLB, and MLB Big Inning.
