UFC Vegas 84 is set to take place on January 13 at the Apex Center in Las Vegas and is a part of the “UFC Fight Night” events, which are becoming more and more popular despite having less ranked fighters than the UFC’s PPV event.

This card is stacked with great fights, but the main event is the one that really stands out, as the number 3 ranked Magomed Ankalaev is facing number 7 ranked Johnny Walker. The winner might even get a shot at the title, facing off against the heavy handed Alex Periera for the Light Heavyweight championship.

UFC Vegas 84 Main Cards:

Magomed Ankalaev vs Johnny Walker (Light Heavyweight)

The two light heavyweights have faced each other once before at UFC 294, in a bout that ended in a no contest after an illegal knee was thrown by Ankalaev.

Previous to this unfortunate accident both fighters were stacking up impressive wins in the division, something that might give the winner of this main event the possibility to face Alex Peireia for the belt.

Matheus Nicolau vs Manel Kape (Flyweight)

In this exciting bout we will get to see two of the top ranked flyweights go at it for a chance at the title.

Despite coming off a loss in 2023, Nicolau has had an impressive resume over the last few years, going on a win streak for all of 2021 and 2022. The number 6 ranked Manel Kape, fresh off a win at UFC 293 is an exciting fighter but has had many issues getting fights since coming to the UFC in 2020, something that makes this one of the first real tests for the Portuguese fighter.

Jim Miller vs Gabriel Benitez (Lightweight)

Jim Miller is a very experienced fighter, who is coming off a win against Jesse Butler in the summer of 2023. Gabriel Benitez is a fighter with lots of rounds in the tank as well. The Mexican has had a rocky road in the UFC, something that led to his layoff after his latest bout in 2022.

Ricky Simón vs Mario Bautista (Bantamweight)

The 13th ranked Ricky Simons is a really exciting UFC prospect, who previous to his run in the organization was the Legacy Fighting Alliance bantamweight champion. Mario Bautista is on a five fight win streak and a win against RIcky Simon is surely going to bump him up to being a ranked fighter on the roster.

Phil Hawes vs Brunno Ferreira (Middleweight)

Phil Hawes lost his two last bouts in the UFC, which makes this a must win in order to secure his spot on the UFC roster. Brunno Ferreira has only had two fights in the UFC but with a record of 10-1-0 he is an exciting prospect who is yet to lose in the organization.
