Today’s Picks

These are the bets that stand out to us from today’s schedule. Each pick includes the line we’re backing and a short explanation of what we see in the matchup.

Our Betting Picks Record

Every pick we publish is tracked, including the odds available when the prediction was posted. That gives you a clear record of how our picks have performed over time rather than only highlighting the winners.

We track our results in units instead of dollars. One unit represents the amount we would normally bet on a pick. So, if 1 unit is $10 and our record is +5 units, that equals a $50 profit. This makes our results easy to compare no matter how much you choose to bet.

How We Choose Our Betting Picks

Predicting a winner is only half the job, the price determines whether we actually want to bet it.

If we believe a team should be a stronger favorite than the sportsbook line suggests, there may be value in backing it. If the market has already moved heavily in that direction, the opportunity may have disappeared. Before publishing a prediction, we therefore consider:

  • The matchup and where either team or player may have an advantage.
  • Injuries and team news that could change how the game is expected to play out.
  • The current line, rather than judging a wager without considering its price.
  • Recent performance in the context of the wider season.
  • Market movement between opening lines and the price currently available.

There isn’t one formula that works across all five leagues. An expected starting goalie can change our view of an NHL total, while NBA minutes and usage are more important for a player prop. In MLB, the pitching matchup can completely change the outlook for a game.

Free Picks for Every Type of Bet

We don’t start with a preferred type of bet and try to make it fit the game. Each matchup is assessed across the available markets, and the pick can come from whichever one offers the most compelling case at the current line. That could mean backing the winner outright, taking the points, playing the total or focusing on an individual player.

Moneyline Picks

Moneyline picks are the most direct way to back an outcome, but finding the likely winner isn’t enough. The odds still have to make sense. A heavy favorite may have the better chance of winning but offer little appeal at the available price, while an underdog can be worth considering even when we give it less than a 50% chance.

Spread Picks

The spread shifts the focus from who wins to by how much. We compare the handicap with our view of the matchup and look for situations where the margin may be too generous to one side. That can mean laying points with a favorite or backing an underdog we expect to keep the game closer than the market suggests.

Over/Under Picks

Totals are useful when we have a stronger view on the shape of the game than the final winner. Rather than automatically leaning toward high-scoring teams to go over or defensive teams to go under, we consider whether the number itself leaves enough room for the bet we want to make.

Player Prop Picks

Player props narrow the analysis down to one part of the game. We look at the player’s expected role, matchup and recent usage alongside the line being offered. A player can be in excellent form and still be an unattractive over if the sportsbook has already adjusted the number too far.

Puck Line & Run Line Picks

Puck and run lines introduce a scoring handicap, usually 1.5 goals or runs, in exchange for a different price from the moneyline. They can give us another way to back a favorite when the outright odds are too short, or an underdog when taking the additional cushion makes more sense than betting it to win.

Both Teams to Score Picks

Both Teams to Score removes the need to pick the match winner and instead asks whether each side will find the net. We look beyond recent scores and consider how the teams create and concede chances before deciding whether the available Yes or No price is worth backing.

Where to Bet Our Picks

The same bet won’t always come with the same odds at every sportsbook. Lines can differ, player props may be set at different numbers, and some markets simply aren’t available everywhere. Checking more than one site before placing a bet can therefore make a meaningful difference over time.

We review legal US betting sites separately, looking at their odds, market coverage, betting apps, live betting and overall experience. If you’re deciding where to place one of our picks, start with our guide to the best betting sites in the US and compare what’s available in your state.

Remember that a pick is based on the line and odds shown when it was published. If the market has moved significantly since then, the bet you’re looking at may no longer be the same one we recommended.

From Our Pick to Where to Watch

A betting pick is more useful when you can follow the game too. That’s where LiveSportsOnTV is different. Alongside our betting picks, you can check the US TV channel, streaming service and start time for the same matchup.

Our schedules cover every NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB and MLS game, so once you’ve found a bet you like, you can see exactly where to watch it without searching elsewhere.

I created this page to make our betting picks easy to follow and, just as importantly, easy to judge over time. Every pick we publish stays part of our record, whether it wins or loses, so you can see how our predictions actually perform rather than only seeing the ones we get right.
