Today’s NFL Odds Week 1

The NFL odds board above brings the main betting markets for upcoming games together in one place. Above, you can use it to compare:

  • NFL moneyline odds
  • Point spreads
  • Over/Under totals
  • Prices from multiple sportsbooks
  • Upcoming game times and matchups

During the regular season, most NFL games take place on Thursday, Sunday, and Monday. The schedule also includes selected Saturday games later in the year, as well as games played on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and at international venues.

Sportsbooks normally release early NFL lines well before game day. The market then continues to move as kickoff approaches. Checking back throughout the week can help you see whether the price has changed and whether another sportsbook is offering a better alternative.

Our Approach to NFL Odds

Our aim is simple, to help you find the information you need without making the process harder than it should be.

The NFL odds board lets you compare current prices from multiple sportsbooks in one place. We focus on the markets most bettors use, including moneylines, point spreads, totals, and futures.

We do not believe you should choose a sportsbook based only on a large logo or headline promotion. Our wider sportsbook reviews consider what the product is actually like to use, including its licensing, app performance, betting markets, payments, terms, and customer experience.

How to Find the Best NFL Odds

To be frank, there is no single sportsbook that will always have the best price for every NFL game.

Reality is that one app may be strongest on a favorite’s moneyline, while another offers a better number on the underdog. The best spread and total may also be found at two different books.

Before placing your NFL bets, this is what we recommend:

  1. Decide which market and selection you want.
  2. Check the exact line at multiple sportsbooks.
  3. Compare both the number and the price.
  4. Confirm that the site is legal in your location.
  5. Review the bet slip before submitting the wager.
We also recommend to not focus too much on the promotional offers. A welcome bonus can be useful, but competitive everyday odds, reliable withdrawals, market depth, and a stable app matter over the long term.

And of course, we recommend to visit our guide to the best betting sites to compare licensed US sportsbooks, or see our rankings of the best sports betting apps if mobile performance is your priority.

NFL Futures Odds

Not every NFL bet is settled on game day. Futures bets allow you to predict what will happen over the course of the season, with markets remaining open for weeks or even months before they are decided.

Clearly, the most popular futures market is the Super Bowl winner, where you simply pick the team you believe will lift the Lombardi Trophy at the end of the season. However, modern betting sites also offer a wide range of other futures markets, giving bettors plenty of ways to back teams and players before the playoffs begin.

If you’re considering an NFL futures bet, it’s worth comparing the odds across multiple brands. Prices often vary from one operator to another, especially on markets such as Super Bowl odds and MVP betting, and finding the best available number can significantly improve your potential return.

Who I believe will win the Super Bowl

Dan Anderson

Dan Anderson

Senior Sports Betting Analyst
If I had to pick one team to win the Super Bowl, I’d go with the Los Angeles Rams. They have one of the league’s most complete rosters, elite talent on both sides of the ball, and the experience needed to make another deep playoff run. With Matthew Stafford still leading the offense and a defense capable of taking over games, the Rams look like the team to beat heading into the season. Of course, contenders like the Bills, Ravens, and Chiefs should never be overlooked, but if I’m making one prediction today, the Rams are my Super Bowl pick.

NFL MVP Odds

The NFL MVP award is one of the most popular futures markets throughout the season. betting sites release MVP odds months before kickoff, with the prices changing every week based on player performances, injuries, and team success.

Quarterbacks dominate the market more than any other position, making them the most common MVP winners in recent years. However, exceptional seasons from running backs or wide receivers can also attract attention, particularly if they play a key role for a playoff contender.

Another quarterback MVP?

Quarterbacks have historically dominated NFL MVP voting. Through the 2024 season, quarterbacks had won 49 of the first 68 Associated Press NFL MVP awards, and every winner from 2013 through 2024 played the position. This helps explain why quarterbacks normally occupy most of the shortest prices in the NFL MVP odds market.

Why You Should Compare NFL Betting Odds

Line shopping means comparing the same NFL bet across several operators before placing your wager. Sportsbooks can offer different point spreads, totals, moneylines, and prices for the same game, so accepting the first line you see may mean giving up value.

One book may list a team at -3 while another has moved to -3.5. You might also find the same spread priced at -105, -110, or -115 depending on where you look. Those differences affect both your chance of winning the bet and the amount you can receive, just consider the example beneath:

Sportsbook A: Buffalo Bills -3 (-110)
Sportsbook B: Buffalo Bills -3.5 (-110)

If Buffalo wins by exactly three points, the first wager pushes and the stake is returned. The second wager loses. The difference between -3 and -3.5 may look small, but in this case it changes the result of the bet.

Three and seven are especially important numbers in NFL spread betting. Since the extra-point distance changed in 2015, approximately 15% of regular-season games have been decided by exactly three points. This is why the difference between -2.5 and -3.5 can be much more valuable than it first appears.

The price attached to the line also matters. If the same wager is available at -105 instead of -110, you risk less money for the same potential profit. At standard odds of -110, you need to win approximately 52.38% of your bets just to break even because of the sportsbook’s vig, see the example beneath:

Sportsbook A: Kansas City Chiefs -110
Sportsbook B: Kansas City Chiefs -105

Both wagers are on the same team and line, but the second sportsbook charges a lower price. Over time, consistently accepting -105 instead of -110 reduces the amount you need to risk for the same potential profit.

This is why experienced bettors keep accounts with more than one sportsbook. It only takes a few moments to compare the market, and you are under no obligation to accept the first NFL line you see.

NFL Opening Lines, Current Odds and Closing Lines

You may hear NFL bettors refer to the opening line, current line, and closing line. When following NFL betting markets, you’ll often hear terms like opening line, current odds, and closing line. These simply refer to how a sportsbook’s betting line changes before kickoff.

  • The opening line is the first betting line released for a game. It reflects the sportsbook’s initial prediction before significant betting action, injury news, or other developments influence the market.
  • The current line is the latest available number. This is the line you’ll see on an updated NFL odds board and the price you’ll receive if you place your bet right now.
  • The closing line is the final line offered before the game begins. By this point, the gambing site have adjusted the market based on betting activity, injuries, weather conditions, and other relevant information.
For example, suppose you bet a team at +3.5 and the market closes at +2.5. You secured an extra point compared with the final market price. That does not guarantee a winning ticket, but it means you obtained a more favorable line than someone placing the same bet at kickoff. The opposite is also true. Betting -3.5 before the market moves to -2.5 means you accepted a worse number than the one available later.

Its fair to say that nobody can predict every movement correctly. The important thing is to compare the betting apps and sites to decide whether the current number still offers enough value for your wager.

What Causes NFL Lines to Move?

Betting operators regularly adjust their numbers as new information becomes available and the betting market develops. A team might open as a 2.5-point favorite before moving to -3 or -3.5, while the moneyline and game total may change at the same time.

  • Injuries are among the most common reasons for significant line movement. Quarterback news usually has the greatest impact, but the availability of offensive linemen, receivers, pass rushers, cornerbacks, and other important players can also influence how a game is priced. Practice reports become particularly relevant later in the week as sportsbooks and bettors get a clearer picture of who is likely to play.
  • Weather can also affect NFL betting lines, especially the total. Strong wind may make passing and kicking more difficult, while heavy rain, snow, or extreme temperatures can influence the expected pace and scoring of a game. Because forecasts become more reliable closer to kickoff, weather-related movement often happens late in the week.
  • Betting activity is another factor. Sportsbooks may adjust a line after receiving substantial wagers on one side of a market. However, a move does not necessarily mean that most bettors have chosen that team. A small number of large wagers can sometimes have more influence than a high volume of smaller bets.
  • Other developments, including coaching changes, suspensions, travel schedules, expected player usage, and tactical matchups, may also cause the market to move. Sportsbooks look beyond wins and losses when evaluating teams, which means a line can change even when recent results do not immediately explain the adjustment.

While most NFL bettors focus on the moneyline, point spread, and game total, sportsbooks offer many other betting markets throughout the season. These include wagers on individual player performances, team scoring, live action, and season-long outcomes, giving bettors far more flexibility than simply picking a winner.

NFL player props

Today, US betting sites offer hundreds of player props for every NFL game, allowing you to bet on an individual player’s performance rather than the final result. Here are some of the most popular NFL player prop markets:

  • Quarterback passing yards – Bet on whether a quarterback will finish Over or Under a sportsbook’s projected passing yard total.
  • Passing touchdowns – Predict how many touchdown passes a quarterback will throw during the game, typically using an Over/Under line.
  • Completions and attempts – Wager on the total number of completed passes or pass attempts by a quarterback.
  • Running back rushing yards – Bet on how many rushing yards a running back will record before the game ends.
  • Receiver receptions – Predict the number of catches a wide receiver or tight end will make, regardless of the total yards gained.
  • Receiving yards – Bet on the total number of receiving yards a player will accumulate from completed passes.
  • Anytime touchdown scorer – Your bet wins if the selected player scores a touchdown at any point during the game, whether by rushing, receiving, or on a return.
  • Kicking points – Wager on how many total points a kicker will score through field goals and extra points.
  • Defensive sacks or tackles – Bet on whether a defensive player will finish Over or Under a set number of sacks or tackles during the game.

The available props usually increase as game day approaches where high-profile games may feature hundreds of individual markets.

Player props are strongly connected to expected usage. Injuries, depth chart changes, matchups, and projected game flow can all affect how often a player is likely to run, receive targets, or throw the ball.

Team totals

A team total is an Over/Under bet that focuses on one team’s point total rather than the combined score of the game. Instead of predicting how many points both teams will score together, you’re simply betting on whether one team will finish above or below the number set by the betting site.

For example, if the Detroit Lions have a team total of 27.5 points, an Over bet wins if they score 28 points or more, while an Under bet wins if they score 27 points or fewer.

Team totals are popular when you have a strong opinion about a single offense or defense. You might believe one team is capable of putting up plenty of points, even if you’re unsure who will win the game. Likewise, if you expect a defense to dominate, betting the opposing team’s Under can be an alternative to backing the full-game total.

First-half and quarter markets

If you don’t want to bet on the full game, sportsbooks also offer moneylines, point spreads, and totals for the first half and individual quarters.

These bets are settled based only on the selected period. For example, a first-half wager is graded at halftime, regardless of what happens during the rest of the game.

NFL Parlays

Parlays and same-game parlay (SGP) combines two or more bets from a single NFL game into one wager. Instead of placing each bet separately, you bundle them together for the chance to win a larger payout.

For example, you might combine:

  • A team to win the game
  • A quarterback to throw for Over 250.5 passing yards
  • A wide receiver to score a touchdown
  • The game to go over the total points line

Every selection in the parlay must win for the bet to pay out. If just one leg loses, the entire same-game parlay is graded as a loss.

Parlays have become one of the most popular NFL betting markets because they allow bettors to build wagers around a specific game script. For example, if you expect a high-scoring game, you might combine the Over with a quarterback’s passing yards and a receiver’s touchdown prop. Sportsbooks automatically calculate the combined odds while taking into account the relationship between each selection.

It’s important to understand that sportsbooks build a margin, often referred to as the vig or juice, into every betting market. When multiple selections are combined into a parlay, that margin is effectively applied across each leg, meaning the sportsbook’s overall edge can become larger than it is on a single straight bet.

NFL Live Betting Odds

Live betting, allows you to place wagers after a game has kicked off. Rather than betting on fixed pre-game lines, you’ll see odds that update continuously as the action unfolds.

Sportsbooks adjust moneylines, point spreads, totals, player props, and other live markets based on factors such as the score, time remaining, field position, possession, injuries, and overall game flow. As momentum shifts, so do the odds.

For example, a team that entered the game as a 7-point favorite may become the underdog after falling behind early. Likewise, the live total can increase if both offenses start quickly or drop if the game turns into a defensive battle.

One of the biggest advantages of live betting is the opportunity to react to what you’re seeing on the field. If you believe a team has started slowly but is likely to recover, or you spot a matchup the sportsbook hasn’t fully adjusted for, live betting can offer value that wasn’t available before kickoff.

Note that television and streaming broadcasts may also be delayed. A betting site could be working with information that reaches you several seconds later, so do not assume the picture on your screen represents the exact live situation.

My Final Thoughts on NFL Odds

Dan Anderson

Senior Sports Betting Analyst

The habit that took me longest to build was checking a second book before tapping the bet slip. It feels tedious. It takes about twenty seconds. Last season I took the Bills at -3 on a Sunday morning without looking anywhere else.

Another book had them at -2.5. Buffalo won by exactly three, my ticket pushed, and anyone who had spent those twenty seconds got paid. Roughly one in seven NFL games lands on that number, so it will happen to you at some point too.

That is really why this page exists. Everything is laid out here so you can see the lines together instead of opening five apps on a Sunday morning. Compare the price as well as the number, and only stake what you would shrug off losing.
