NFL Games This Week | Week 16

After a blockbuster Week 15 in the NFL, we are back this week with another round of fantastic matchups as the NFL season edges ever closer to the end of the regular season. Week 16 is the traditional Christmas weekend round of games, and there are plenty of tasty clashes to look forward to. No teams has a bye week, which means we will be enjoying A LOT OF FOOTBALL!

Thursday Night Football

To kick things off, the Thursday Night Football match between the Jacksonville Jaguars (6-8) and the New York Jets (7-7) is one of the key mid-table clashes in the final push for the playoff places. The Jets have just edged the season on current form, but their last few matches have had some highs and lows which has put them in a dangerous position when it comes to challenging for the playoffs. The Jaguars’ wide receiver Christian Kirk will be licking his lips anticipating the Jets’ suspect defense, and it should be a feisty occasion for both teams.

Saturday  Football

Then, on Saturday Football, the 6-8 Las Vegas Raiders take on a Pittsburgh Steelers side also on 6-8 on the last game for Christmas eve. The Raiders have won three of their last four games, and their playoff push looks to be gaining momentum, with star WR Devante Adams on top form. The Steelers have also won three of their last four, and this should be a fun clash between two in-form teams making their final push to make the offseason.

Sunday Night Football

Sunday Night Football sees the faltering Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-8) take on the Arizona Cardinals (4-10) in a matchup that sees two of last year’s form teams battle it out to save some face for the season. Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay team are still first in the NFC South, but this is more due to their weak division than their own prowess, and a loss to the Cardinals would all but confirm their lack of readiness for the playoffs in surely one of Brady’s last seasons in the NFL.

Monday Night Football

Finally, Monday Night Football sees the Los Angeles Chargers (8-6) go away to the Indianapolis Colts (4-9-1), which under normal circumstances would see the Chargers take an easy victory. However, the Colts have often been a tricky side for the Chargers in recent seasons, and their own efforts to save face this season might see them pose a threat to Los Angeles. It’s going to be a fascinating matchup.
