Under its current rules, Fanatics can void qualifying NBA and WNBA player-prop selections when a player leaves because of injury during the first or second quarter and doesn’t return. Props that have already been conclusively decided are still settled normally.
That’s a meaningful difference for anyone regularly betting points, rebounds, assists or other player props, where an early injury can otherwise effectively decide the wager. Fanatics also applies Fair Play to both NBA and WNBA basketball, making the feature relevant beyond just the NBA.
BetMGM – My Choice for Live Basketball Betting
Basketball is particularly suited to live betting because spreads, totals and other lines can move substantially during a game, and that’s where I think BetMGM makes the strongest case. Its basketball product specifically supports live NBA and college basketball betting, with updated odds available after tip-off alongside its pregame markets.
For me, that makes BetMGM more interesting when I don’t necessarily want to have every bet placed before the game starts. I can follow how an NBA matchup develops and then look at updated spreads, totals and other available in-play markets rather than relying entirely on the closing pregame lines.

The first three markets don’t give me much reason to choose one basketball sportsbook over another. If I’m betting an NBA moneyline, spread or total, I’d rather compare the actual number and odds across several sites.
The choice matters more with player props and Same Game Parlays. FanDuel is my preferred starting point for both, while Fanatics has a different advantage through Fair Play on qualifying NBA and WNBA player props.
