Men’s Singles Preview

Novak Djokovic has been brilliant so far this season and winning all three Grand Slam tournaments in 2021. One more Grand Slam title at the US Open in September and he will be the first player since Rod Laver to complete a Calendar Year Grand Slam. The odds are in his favor and there’s no doubt that anything but a place in the final would count as a huge disappointment.

Last year’s champion Dominic Thiem will not participate in the tournament due to an injury. Further, both Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer are ruled out making the field of players somewhat diminished.

Alexander Zverev got the better of Djokovic at the Tokyo Olympics where the German went all the way to the final where he defeated Karen Khachanov. Zverev will be a threat to Djokovic and paying 7.00 at BetMGM he could be an interesting bet for anyone looking for an alternative outright. Djokovic has featured in almost every major tournament this year and could possibly be paying the price for that now with a tired body. A younger and perhaps more recharged Zverev who finished runner-up in last year’s US Open will have a go on winning his first ever Grand Slam trophy and we believe he has a good chance of doing so.
