PGA Championship May 20th – May 23rd

Par: 72
Players: 156
Prize money: $11 000 000
Last year’s winner: Collin Morikawa, 267 (-13 to par)

The 2021 PGA Championship will make room for an extremely strong line up of players where 99 out of the top 100 golf players on the world ranking will participate. The tournament is seen as one of the highlights during the golf season and this year will be no exception. The PGA Championship will begin on Thursday with the first round as the players make their entry in front of 10 000 fans who’ve managed to get a ticket.

The Ocean Court at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort requires a great variety of skills from the players. The court measures 7876 yards and offers a number of tricky holes. Last time the PGA Championship was held at the Ocean Court in South Carolina was back in 2012. Then the champion was named Rory McIlroy who managed to win with a score of 275. An important key factor in this year’s tournament, as it was in 2012, will be the wind. The Ocean Court is located on the eastern-most end of the island, facing the Atlantic Ocean which makes it extremely sensitive for winds. The weather conditions tend to change fast and unpredictable which put the players under great pressure. The player who can handle the wind best will have a huge advantage in the fight for another major PGA Tour win.

Previous winners

2020 – Collin Morikawa, 267 (-13)
2019 – Brooks Koepka, 272 (-8)
2018 – Brooks Koepka, 264 (-16)
2017 – Justin Thomas, 276 (-8)
2016 – Jimmy Walker, 266 (-14)

Favorites to win the 2021 PGA Championship

There are many names in contention for the 2021 PGA Championship trophy. Last year’s winner, Collin Morikawa, managed to win the trophy on his tournament debut, something we haven’t seen too many times in the history. Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas are the four most predicted winners of this year’s tournament but as bookmakers pays around +1100 to +1400, it shows how hard it is to predict a winner.
