US Open Golf Championship Tee Times

While the U.S. Open website says that the broadcast schedule for the U.S. Open will be available soon, we expect it to follow a similar structure to previous editions of U.S. Opens and other major championships. From looking at previous schedules, this is how we expect the tournament to be shown on TV, with Peacock treating us to previews and build-ups, before USA Network, NBC (and Peacock) showcase the action from each round.

U.S. Open Course Preview

Based in Pennsylvania, Oakmont Country Club is renowned as one of the most challenging courses in the United States. Its intimidating layout is defined by narrow fairways, deep bunkers, and lightning-fast greens, meaning the golfers will have to be at their absolute best to survive the full 18. If you need any more proof that this is a true major golf course, then look no further than the fact that this is the 10th time this course has hosted the US Open. That’s the most of any course.

The first hole is one of the toughest opening holes in golf, demanding a pinpoint tee shot to get the 488-yard, par 4 underway. The iconic Church Pew bunker then awaits the golfers on hole 3, before the terrifying 289-yard Par 3 is up at hole 8. Yes, you heard that right. 289 yards makes this eighth hole the longest Par 3 in US Open history. Just a few holes later, the golfers then have to set off on a whopping 630-yard Par 5. This one isn’t for the faint-hearted, with hazards down either side. Look for the long drivers to find their advantage here.

US Open Betting Preview & Players to Watch

As is often the case, when major golf rolls around, we have to look at the big guns. Scottie Scheffler reigned supreme in the PGA Championship just a few weeks ago, and it was Rory McIlroy who came out on top in April to win the Masters. True to form, it is those two that sit first and second in the world rankings, but both players had to fend off Bryson DeChambeau to get those victories. Bryson just happens to be the reigning champion of this event, and arguably the most consistent performer across majors over the last year and a half.

Those three sit atop the betting odds, all coming in under 10/1, but they will be wary of Jon Rahm, who finally showed signs of life in a major last time out. He has struggled in the big tournaments ever since he joined the LIV Tour, but he looked to have gotten his mojo back at the PGA, and he is as dangerous as they come when on form.

When it comes to outsiders, Ben Griffin has been in sumptuous form, out of nowhere, and is capable of giving you a good run for your money at +8000. Shane Lowry at +4000 has also been looking good for a few months now, and you can never count out Xander Schauffele at +1600. It’s all to play for!
