What Happened to Deshaun Watson?

On August 18, 2022, the NFL announced that Deshaun Watson, who now plays as a quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, had been suspended for 11 regular-season games.

This came after the football star was accused by several women of assault and sexual misconduct. In a statement, the league confirmed that the player would not receive any pay during the suspension period and would part with a $5 million fine in a settlement with the league. This came after investigations into claims of coercive and lewd sexual conduct were concluded.

While Watson agreed to settle 23 out of 24 lawsuits leveled against him, he denied the charges. He must have also been lucky that two Grand juries in different Texas counties declined to charge him criminally.
